The Krause ear polypus snare is an otology snare that holds a wire loop at its tip. ENT surgeons use it to capture and remove polyps from the ear canal.

Snare principle

A snare removes tissue by closing a wire loop around it. First, the surgeon loads a length of wire and shapes the loop. Then the loop goes around the polyp, and the surgeon draws it tight.

Setting up the snare

Keep fresh wire on hand, since each case uses a new length. We offer 0.3 mm and 0.4 mm wire on 10 m rolls. In addition, prepare a speculum and a fine suction tube before you start.

Take out the used wire after the procedure. Next, flush and brush the barrel, then rinse the whole snare. Dry it well and sterilize it following your usual cycle.
