Description
Koerte Retractor
The Koerte retractor comes in three different forms under one name. You can choose a malleable blade, a rigid blade or an eight-prong rake version.
Malleable version
This version measures 41 cm overall with a 245 mm blade. Then you choose a width of 30, 40, 50, 60 or 70 mm. Also, you can bend it by hand to follow the curve of an organ.
Rigid version
The rigid version measures 28 cm with a 100 x 45 mm blade. By contrast, it holds a fixed shape under heavy load. So it suits firm, steady retraction of the abdominal wall.
Eight-prong rake
The rake version measures 23.5 cm with a 40 x 30 mm rake end. Choose sharp or blunt prongs to suit the tissue. Therefore you can match the grip to fascia, muscle or fat.
Which to pick
Deep organ work suits the malleable Koerte retractor, since you can shape it. Meanwhile, the rigid form holds the abdominal wall without flexing. Plus, the rake grips muscle and fascia firmly.
Cleaning Koerte retractor
Straighten the malleable blade gently by hand before washing. Next, brush between the rake prongs and over the rigid blade face. Finally, dry each version fully and store the rake with its tips covered.
