Description
Malleable Retractor
A malleable retractor bends by hand to almost any curve. Surgeons shape it to hold bowel and organs away from the field.
Ribbon widths
The flat ribbons measure 200 mm long. Then you pick a width of 6.5, 9.5, 13, 16, 17, 19 or 25 mm. So narrow ribbons fit small gaps, and wide ones hold more bowel.
Longer ribbon
One ribbon measures 250 x 25 mm. Because it runs longer, it reaches deeper into the pelvis or chest. Also, it suits larger patients.
Spatulas
The spatulas measure 33 cm long and come 30, 40 or 50 mm wide. Instead of a narrow strip, they give a broad face. As a result, they spread pressure over more tissue.
Shaping for the case
Bend the ribbon before placing it, not while it holds tissue. Then check that the tip curve matches the organ. Plus, a range of widths lets one tray cover many cases.
Reprocessing malleable retractor
Flatten the ribbon gently by hand after each use so it cleans evenly. Next, wash both faces and rinse away all detergent. Finally, dry it and store ribbons flat by width.
