Description
Knolle Iris Hook, Straight
The Knolle iris hook is a straight 13cm hook with a blunt tip. It gives you a direct line from your hand to the iris. So it suits surgeons who like a straight tool for pushing, guiding and holding the pupil edge.
Straight or curved Knolle?
This straight version reaches in a direct line through the incision. By contrast, a curved hook can reach around the pupil edge. Which one you pick comes down to the step and your own style. Many surgeons keep both, then reach for the one that fits the moment.
Gentle by design
The Knolle hook has a blunt tip only. That means it guides rather than cuts. Therefore it works well for moves near the iris and lens capsule where a tear would be a problem. For a firm catch, though, a sharp hook is the better tool. Most cataract trays carry one of each, so the team has both options ready.

- Length: 13cm
- Edge: blunt for gentle moves
- Reusable after each full cycle
Caring for a straight iris hook
Soak the straight Knolle in an enzyme bath for a few minutes after use. Next, wipe the tip and shaft, rinse with clean water and dry. Each Knolle we send is non-sterile, so plan a cycle before it joins a cataract tray. Store it in a rack to protect the tip, and it will serve for many cases.
