Mod. Bonn Iris Hook Straight

Description

Mod. Bonn Iris Hook, Straight

Our Mod. Bonn iris hook is a straight 14cm hook with a blunt tip. At 14cm, it is one of the longest iris hooks we carry. So it gives you plenty of reach while keeping your hand well back from the eye.

The Bonn family of eye tools

Bonn patterns are known for fine, light tools used in eye surgery, from forceps to hooks. This modified version keeps that light feel in a long, straight hook. As a result, it fits well in a tray of other Bonn tools.

Long and straight: who it suits

A long, straight hook suits surgeons who like a direct line to the tip and a hand far from the eye. It also helps with a deep-set eye or a tall brow. However, if you prefer close work, a 10cm hook may feel better. Try holding both before you settle on one, since reach is a very personal choice.

Mod. Bonn hook in short

• Length: 14cm
• Shaft: straight
• Edge: blunt for gentle guiding
• Supplied non-sterile; sterilize before first use

Caring for a long hook

A long, slim hook can bend if it is dropped or crushed under heavier tools. So handle the Mod. Bonn with care and give it a slot of its own. After use, rinse it, brush the tip and dry it. Then run your usual cycle, and it is reusable for the next case. Before each use, roll it on a flat surface to confirm that the shaft is still true.

Mod. Bonn warranty

Mod. Bonn hooks include three years against manufacturing defects on the long straight shaft and the tip. The steel follows ASTM F899. Browse our anterior segment range, or see the Mod. Tubingen iris hook, also 14cm. Our FAQs answer common questions.
