Description
Kilner Needle Holder
The Kilner needle holder is a short, light holder that plastic surgeons favour for skin work. We offer it in 13 and 13.5 cm.
Built for skin closure
Short shanks keep the jaws close to your fingers. So you get precise needle placement along facial and hand incisions. Neat, even bites come more easily with a Kilner needle holder.
Two close sizes
The 13 cm size gives the tightest control. However, the extra half centimetre adds a touch more reach for some hands. Try both if your team has mixed hand sizes.
Mini-profile carbide
Gold-handled carbide jaws carry a fine mini serration. Because the inserts wear slowly, the hold on small needles stays consistent. Plain steel jaws remain a sound, lower-cost choice.
Where it fits
Plastic and reconstructive trays often use a Kilner for skin layers. Next to it, surgeons keep fine-toothed forceps and small scissors. For deeper layers, a longer holder takes over. Because the Kilner needle holder weighs little, it also suits long reconstructive lists. So many surgeons keep two on the tray.
Cleaning Kilner needle holder
Wipe the jaws during the procedure to limit dried residue. Afterwards, brush the ratchet teeth and the box lock carefully. Then dry the holder and inspect the jaw faces under good light.
