Joseph Saw

The Joseph saw is a small nasal saw for cutting bone in rhinoplasty. Surgeons use it to cut the nasal bones in a controlled way, for example during osteotomy or hump work.

A saw instead of a chisel

Some surgeons prefer to saw nasal bone rather than tap it with a mallet. A saw lets them feel the cut advance stroke by stroke. So it offers a different kind of control from an osteotome.

Five patterns

We offer five versions. Two are angled, left or right, and measure 17 cm. The other three are curved, curved left or curved right, and measure 19 cm. Therefore you can match the blade direction to the side you are working on.

Left and right versions

Nasal bone cuts often happen on both sides of the nose. So a paired left and right saw helps the surgeon reach each side at a comfortable angle. Meanwhile, the plain curved version suits surgeons who prefer one saw for both sides.

Choosing a set

If you want full coverage, order a left and right pair in the same style. Alternatively, start with the single curved saw and add sided saws later. We can also send photos of each pattern.

Caring for your Joseph saw

Brush the teeth right after surgery, because bone debris packs between them quickly. Then rinse the saw and inspect it under good light. Finally, dry it fully and sterilize.
