Description
Jacobson Buttoned Probe
The Jacobson buttoned probe is a slim microsurgical probe with a rounded button at the tip. Surgeons use it to explore, lift and move delicate tissue without cutting it.
Why a button tip
A plain point can snag or pierce fine tissue, so shape matters. In contrast, the rounded button slides along vessels and nerves and spreads the contact over a slightly larger area. As a result, the surgeon can feel and move structures more safely.
One 18 cm size
Also, we sell this probe in a single 18 cm length. That length suits work under the operating microscope, with the hand resting near the wound. Also, it matches the other Jacobson pieces in our range. Ask us for tip dimensions if you need them.
Where it helps
The Jacobson name ties this pattern to early microvascular surgery, too. Today surgeons use such probes to test planes, lift small vessels and check for adhesions. For example, a surgeon may slide the button under an arachnoid band before cutting it.
Building a micro set
A buttoned probe works best alongside a twin probe, a micro instrument and fine dissectors. So check which of those you already hold. If you want matching lengths across the set, we can help you pick from the 18 cm group.
Caring for your Jacobson buttoned probe
Microsurgical tips need gentle handling, because they bend easily. Rinse the button tip right after use and wipe it with a lint-free cloth. Then dry it, store it in a protected slot, and sterilize it with other micro tools.

Ordering the probe
Also, a three-year warranty covers this probe against any defect that stems from workmanship. Before it ships from Atlanta, a team member handles and checks it personally.
