Description
Jacobson Twin Probe
The Jacobson twin probe is a microsurgical probe for exploring and gently moving fine structures. Surgeons use it under the microscope to test tissue planes and lift small vessels and nerves.
Two working ends
The twin name points to a probe with two working ends. So the surgeon can flip the instrument instead of reaching for a second tool. That saves time and keeps attention on the field.
Size
We offer the Jacobson twin probe in one size, 18 cm. Also, it shares that length with the buttoned probe and the micro instrument in the same family. For the exact tip shapes, contact us and we will send a photo.
How surgeons use it
Probes let a surgeon feel structures that are hard to see. For example, a probe can check whether a vessel is free before a clip goes on. Likewise, it can separate a nerve from surrounding tissue with light pressure.
Completing the Jacobson set
Many buyers take the twin probe and the buttoned probe together. However, if you already own fine dissectors, one probe may be enough. Tell us what you have and we will point out any gaps.
Caring for your Jacobson twin probe
Clean both ends after every case, even if you only used one. First rinse, then wipe the tips with a soft cloth. Afterward, dry the probe and store it where the tips cannot bend. Then sterilize it.

How ordering works
The twin probe comes with a three-year warranty covering workmanship problems. Meanwhile, our Atlanta staff give it a hands-on look before we seal the box. Popular questions about orders are on the FAQ hub. For steel, we cite ASTM F899, which outlines stainless grades for surgical instruments. A similar tool with a single rounded end is the Krayenbuhl button probe. Everything else in this field sits in our neurosurgery pages.
