Description
Guide Needle Point Curved
The curved guide needle leads a drain or tube through the body wall. Its pointed tip pierces tissue, and the tubing follows along the curve.
Six French sizes
We stock 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 Fr. In addition, the size should match the drain you plan to place. So a 12 Fr drain pairs with the 12 Fr guide.
Why a curved guide needle
The curve lets the tip exit at a chosen point away from the wound. As a result, the drain leaves through its own stab incision. That keeps the main wound cleaner.
Typical use
General, breast and plastic surgeons use it at the end of a case. It also helps in thoracic and orthopaedic drainage. Moreover, many teams keep a range of sizes in one tray.
Placing a drain
Pass the point from inside the wound outward. Then attach the drain to the hub. Finally, pull the guide through so the tube follows without kinking.

Aftercare and help
Every guide needle passes a personal look from Atlanta staff before it ships. Should the guide needle show a production problem, you keep three years against manufacturing defects. Explore our wider general surgery lineup for other sizes. To learn about stainless alloys for surgery, read ASTM F899. Larger clinics keep a backup guide needle to cover reprocessing time. For answers on returns, visit our customer FAQ. For a similar job, add the angled guide needle. We can advise on choices for repeat orders.
Only for qualified users. Return terms appear on our refunds page. The reprocessing guide mentions image variation and the nickel in stainless steel.
