Description
Guide Needle Point Ang
The angled guide needle routes a drain from the wound to the skin surface. A sharp point opens the path, and the angled shaft sets the exit site.
Angle versus curve
An angled shaft travels straight, then turns. By comparison, a curved shaft arcs the whole way. Additionally, some surgeons find the angle easier to aim on flat body walls.
Sizes of the angled guide needle
We offer 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 Fr. Match the French size to the drain diameter. Then the tube slides on and off cleanly.
Where it is used
It suits abdominal, breast and limb drainage. It also helps when a tunnel must run under the skin. Usually the team keeps it beside the curved pattern.
Passing the needle
Hold the hub firmly and push the point out through the skin. Next, attach the drain. Finally, draw the needle through with a steady pull.
Angled guide needle sizes
- 8 to 18 Fr in six steps
- Pointed tip, angled shaft
- Reusable steel
Reprocessing
Wash and brush the shaft after each case. Rinse, then dry thoroughly. Also, inspect the point and straighten nothing by hand.
Our support on your guide needle
Every guide needle comes with a pledge lasting three years against manufacturing defects from day one. Our team in Atlanta studies each guide needle with care before it ships. Surgeons often add the curved guide needle. We will happily confirm details by email. Similar designs live in the general surgical category. For quick help, browse the FAQs. To learn about instrument steels, review ASTM F899. Busy units order a spare guide needle in case one is out for service.
