The Gruenwald dressing forceps, also called the Jansen pattern, is a bayonet forceps for the nose. Clinicians use Gruenwald dressing forceps to place and remove nasal packing, gauze and small dressings.

Why a bayonet shape

A bayonet forceps has an offset between the handle and the tips. As a result, the hand sits below the line of sight while the tips work in the nostril. Nasal packing becomes much easier to place under direct view.

Four lengths
