Description
Gray Gall Duct Forceps
The Gray gall duct forceps grasp and hold the gallbladder and ducts in biliary surgery. Two jaw options, toothed or serrated, suit firm or delicate tissue.
Jaw options
The 1:2 toothed jaws hold firm tissue such as the gallbladder fundus. By contrast, the serrated jaws give a gentler grip around the ducts.
Length of the Gray gall duct forceps
At 23 cm, the forceps reach deep into the right upper quadrant. Meanwhile, the ring handles stay clear of the wound.
Typical procedures
Surgeons use them during open cholecystectomy and duct exploration. For example, they hold Hartmann’s pouch while the surgeon dissects Calot’s triangle.
Holding traction
Gentle upward traction opens the planes around the ducts. As a result, the surgeon can identify each structure before dividing it.
Choosing a jaw
Pick the toothed jaws for the gallbladder itself, which will be removed. For tissue that stays, choose the serrated jaws.
Pairing
Negus forceps free the ducts, while stone forceps remove stones. Together they make a complete biliary set.

Our support on your forceps
Toothed or serrated, the Gray forceps have three years against manufacturing defects. Each forceps goes through a personal examination from Atlanta staff ahead of shipping. Further options live in the general instruments catalog. For payment questions, visit the order FAQ. Also consider our Negus forceps. Busy theaters keep a backup forceps for back-to-back cases. Steel in surgical instruments follows a known standard, which is ASTM F899.
Professional use only. Our photos are illustrative, and the steel holds nickel; use the cleaning guide to learn more. Open our shipping page for dispatch times.
