Foerster Polypus And Dressing Forceps
The Foerster sponge forceps are one of the most widely used dressing forceps. They hold swabs, grasp soft tissue and help in gynaecology, with many combinations of length, shape and jaw surface.
Many versions
We offer 18, 20 and 25 cm, each straight or curved, and with serrated or smooth jaws. Consequently, you can build a set that fits your specialty exactly.
Serrated or smooth jaws on Foerster sponge forceps
Serrated jaws hold swabs securely. By contrast, smooth jaws handle delicate tissue, such as the cervix or a pregnancy sac, with less trauma.
Gynaecological use
Obstetric and gynaecology teams use smooth Foerster forceps to hold the cervix and remove retained tissue. In addition, serrated pairs swab the vagina before and after procedures.
General surgery
In the abdomen, a loaded Foerster mops blood and retracts soft tissue. Meanwhile, the curved version reaches into the pelvis and the gutters.
Choosing a set
For example, many departments keep a straight serrated pair for swabbing and a curved smooth pair for tissue. Besides, that way, the right jaw is always at hand.
