Description
Finochietto Bronchus And Gall Duct Clamps
The Finochietto bronchus clamp is a right-angle style dissecting clamp for thoracic and biliary work. It comes in 23 cm and 24 cm.
Right-angle reach
A right-angle tip passes behind a structure that a straight clamp cannot reach. So surgeons use it to dissect around a bronchus or duct. Then they can pass a tie or tape around it.
Two fields, one clamp
In the chest, it helps free the bronchus during lung resection. Meanwhile, in the abdomen it works around the gall duct. That range makes it useful on both thoracic and general sets.
Longer than most
At 23 or 24 cm, the Finochietto bronchus clamp reaches deep hilar structures. However, shorter right-angle clamps suit shallow work better. Many teams keep both.
Choosing between sizes
The 23 cm size suits most adult lung cases. Also, the 24 cm option adds reach for a large chest. Both share the same right-angle style.
Reprocessing Finochietto bronchus clamp
Clean around the bent tips carefully, since debris hides in the angle. Next, flush and brush the joint, then rinse again. Dry the clamp and store it with the jaws slightly apart.
