Description
Faure Peritoneal Clamp Forceps 1/2th
The Faure peritoneal clamp grasps the peritoneum in abdominal and gynecologic surgery. It comes in a single 20 cm length with 1×2 teeth.
Why grasp the peritoneum
The peritoneum lines the abdomen and needs careful handling at the incision. So a dedicated clamp lets the team lift and hold it. Also, that hold helps when the surgeon later closes this layer.
Tooth pattern
Its 1×2 teeth interlock at the tip. As a result, the jaws grip a thin membrane without letting go. However, avoid clamping thicker tissue that the pattern does not suit.
One practical size
Because the clamp comes only in 20 cm, ordering stays simple. Then every clamp in a set matches, and staff never need to sort by size. Plus, that length handles most abdominal incisions, from lower transverse cuts to longer midline openings.
Faure or Schindler
Both patterns share the 20 cm length and 1×2 teeth. Instead of choosing by spec, many surgeons choose by the name they trained with. So ask your team which one they expect on the tray.
Cleaning Faure peritoneal clamp
Keep the Faure peritoneal clamp dry between uses, since moisture in the joint can cause spotting. First, clean it with a neutral pH detergent. Then rinse, dry and store it in a closed container away from damp storage areas.
