Description
Eye Cannula Probe Point
This eye cannula probe point has a rounded, probe-like tip on an irrigating shaft. The tip guides gently through tissue without cutting. So it is a useful general cannula for many small tasks in eye surgery.
Why a probe point
A cut or bevelled tip can catch tissue. In contrast, a rounded probe tip slides past it. Therefore it suits rinsing pockets, separating soft layers or checking a wound. It also helps when you want to avoid sharp contact near delicate tissue, for example close to a thin flap.
Probe point features
No sizes or variants appear for this item. Instead, the single design gives you:
- Rounded probe tip
- Irrigating bore
- Syringe hub
- Reusable stainless build
Handling
Hold it like a pen and support your wrist. Then press the plunger gently as the tip moves. Also, keep flow low near delicate tissue. Also, avoid forcing the tip, because a probe should slide, not push.
When to choose it
Choose this cannula when you need gentle flow and a blunt tip. If you need to cut, look at a knife cannula. If you need to inject air, a fine air cannula is better suited.
Washing a probe point
Flush the bore right away, before saline dries. Next, wipe the outside and the rounded tip with a lint-free cloth. Then rinse and dry with air. Because the probe point cannula leaves us unsterilized, run it through steam before first use; after that, it handles routine reprocessing well.
Probe point cannula order details
A rounded tip still gets full cover: three years against manufacturing defects on bore and hub. The shaft steel answers to ASTM F899. See blunt and sharp eye cannulas side by side.
