Description
Esmarch Bandage Scissors
The Esmarch bandage scissors are a heavy, angled pattern for cutting thick bandages and dressings. Their long handles and strong blades get through layers that defeat lighter scissors.
A heavy pattern
The Esmarch is longer and sturdier than most bandage scissors. As a result, it cuts through thick crepe bandage, padding and layered dressings with fewer strokes.
Lengths of the Esmarch bandage scissors
We offer 20 cm and 22 cm. The longer pair gives extra leverage on bulky dressings, whereas the 20 cm pair is a little easier to handle.
The angled blades
The blades bend away from the handles. Therefore, the lower blade slides along the skin under the bandage while the hand stays above it.
Protecting the skin
A blunt tip on the lower blade rides along the skin without piercing it. Even so, lift the bandage slightly as you cut to keep a gap.
Typical uses
Emergency departments, plaster rooms and wards use them to remove bandages and padding. They also help cut through layered wound dressings quickly.
Named after Esmarch
The surgeon Friedrich von Esmarch did much to spread first aid training. Today, these heavy scissors carry the name into plaster rooms and emergency bays.

Why we check the scissors
Before it ships, our team in Atlanta views the Esmarch scissors piece by piece. The heavy Esmarch pattern comes with three years against manufacturing defects.
