Description
Doyen Uterine Polypus Forceps
Doyen polypus forceps grasp uterine and cervical polyps for removal. This straight model measures 20 cm.
Removing a polyp
The jaws grip the polyp near its base, where the stalk meets the wall. Then a gentle twist often frees it from the wall. Next, the specimen goes to the lab in a labeled pot for review.
A short, straight design
At 20 cm, no polypus forceps we sell comes shorter. So it suits a cervical polyp in easy view. However, a uterine polyp higher up may call for a longer pattern.
Clinic use
Many cervical polyps come out during an office visit. Therefore, clinics often keep a short polypus forceps on the procedure tray. Also, it pairs well with a speculum and a tenaculum on the same small tray.
Comparing lengths
Our Noto pattern reaches about 27 cm and keeps a straight line. By contrast, the Kelly pattern adds a curve at about 32 cm. Doyen polypus forceps stay the most compact choice.
Reprocessing Doyen polypus forceps
Pick any polyp fragments off the tips while they are still moist. Next, send it through a washer-disinfector cycle, opened wide. Dry it and return it to the clinic set with the other office tools.
