Cooley Multi-Purpose Clamp

The Cooley multi-purpose clamp gives vascular surgeons one atraumatic tool for many occlusion tasks. It runs 15 to 17 cm and comes with two jaw angles.

60 or 90 degrees

A 60 degree jaw approaches a vessel at a gentle slant. By contrast, the 90 degree version meets it square on. So choose by how the vessel lies relative to your incision.

Gentle on vessel walls

Atraumatic jaws occlude flow without crushing the wall. As a result, the vessel recovers better once the clamp comes off. That makes it a safe default for many steps.

Everyday versatility

Teams use it for arterial and venous occlusion across many procedures. Plus, its mid-range length suits both open chest and peripheral work. It often becomes a regular in the vascular tray.

Keeping both angles

Cleaning Cooley multi-purpose clamp

Keep the angled jaws apart from other tools so they do not snag. Then clean the clamp open, paying attention to the inside of the bend. Finally, dry it completely and hang or lay it flat for storage.
