Description
Coronary Scissors
These coronary scissors make fine cuts in small arteries during heart surgery. Choose straight blades in four lengths or curved blades in two lengths.
Fine work on small arteries
Coronary arteries measure only a few millimeters across. So every cut must stay small, exact and easy to see. These fine scissors let the surgeon open and trim with control.
Straight options
Straight versions come in 10, 11, 14.5 and 15 cm. Also, the short sizes give close control in shallow fields. Meanwhile, the longer straight sizes reach deeper vessels.
Curved options
Curved versions come in 14.5 and 15 cm. However, a curve helps when the vessel lies at an awkward angle. Many surgeons keep one straight and one curved pair of coronary scissors.
Choosing a set
Start with a straight 14.5 cm pair for general coronary use. Then add a curved pair for angled cuts. Plus, a short 10 or 11 cm straight pair helps with fine trimming close to the surface.
Cleaning coronary scissors
Treat the fine tips with care and never drop them on a hard surface. Clean them by hand with a soft brush, then rinse gently. Store them in a protective rack with the tips covered.
