Description
Converse Needle Holder, Tungsten Carbide
The Converse needle holder is a small, light instrument for plastic surgery. Tungsten carbide inserts with a mini profile hold finer sutures.
Mini profile
The mini serration runs finer than a regular profile. So it grips small needles without crushing finer thread. Also, carbide inserts keep that fine serration sharp for longer.
Short and light
Both sizes of the Converse needle holder stay close to 13 cm. As a result, it moves easily around the face and hands. So it suits eyelid, lip and hand repairs.
Carbide grip
Hard inserts keep the jaws from wearing smooth. Then the needle stays put as you drive it through thin skin. Plus, gold handles mark it as a carbide holder.
Where it fits
Many plastic trays carry a Converse needle holder beside fine skin hooks and forceps. Also, dermatology and hand teams use it for small closures on thin skin. Pick 12.5 cm for tight spots and 13 cm for a little more reach.
Care of Converse needle holder
Rinse the holder right after the procedure, before blood dries on the inserts. Next, clean the inserts with a small, soft brush. Then dry it and keep it in a small tray away from heavy retractors.
