Description

Cloward Blade

This Cloward blade fits the Cloward retractor and holds soft tissue aside during anterior cervical surgery. Teams buy extra blades to cover different patient depths or to replace worn ones.

Fits the Cloward system

The retractor works with interchangeable blades. So, the surgeon can swap depths to suit the patient without changing the whole frame. Each blade attaches to the retractor arm and keeps the trachea, esophagus or muscle out of the way.

Five blade depths

We offer blades of 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 mm. Shorter blades suit slim necks, whereas the longer depths help in larger patients. Because the retractor also belongs to our retractors range, these blades appear there as well.

In anterior cervical work

First, the surgeon dissects down to the front of the spine. Next, the retractor goes in with blades that match the depth. Then the team can adjust or change blades as the exposure deepens. Meanwhile, the field stays clear for discectomy.

Building a blade set

Most teams keep at least three depths on hand. For example, 45, 50 and 55 mm cover a wide range of necks. However, check that the blades suit your existing retractor frame before ordering.

Caring for your Cloward blade

Detach every blade from the frame before cleaning. Then rinse and brush the attachment point, since debris gathers there. Finally, let the blades dry and pack them beside the frame for sterilization.

How ordering works

A three-year warranty applies to every blade whenever a fault traces back to workmanship. In our Atlanta shop, one of us handles each blade and eyes the fitting end before packing. Order questions often find answers on the FAQ screen. ASTM F899 is the specification most people cite for surgical instrument steel. If you still need the frame, see the Cloward retractor. Further spine items wait in the neurosurgery aisle.

Sold for professional use. Photo differences and the nickel inside stainless alloys are the topics of our care explainer, while the refund policy explains returns.
