Citelli Punch

The Citelli punch is an upward cutting bone punch for ENT surgery. Surgeons use it to remove thin bone in sinus and mastoid procedures, taking one small bite at a time.

An upward cutting design

The jaw cuts upward, toward the surgeon’s working field. As a result, it can nibble bone edges that lie above the shaft. That reach helps when the bone sits just out of a straight line.

Three bite sizes

You can order a 1 mm, 2 mm or 3 mm bite. The 3 mm version clears bone faster. The 1 mm version, however, gives finer control near delicate structures. The 2 mm bite sits in between for general use.

Where it fits

Surgeons reach for the Citelli pattern in sphenoid and frontal sinus work. It also serves in mastoid and other ear procedures. Many teams keep two bite sizes on the same tray so they can switch quickly.

Ordering the right bite

First, picture the typical bony ledge in your cases. Thick or wide areas favor the 3 mm bite. Then add a finer size for the final shaping. If in doubt, describe your approach, and we will recommend two bites.

Caring for your Citelli punch

Flush bone dust from the jaw immediately after the case. Next, brush the jaw and hinge thoroughly, since debris can hide there. Dry and lubricate the joint, then sterilize the punch.
