Beyer Puncher

The Beyer puncher is a small punch instrument for ENT surgery. Surgeons use a punch of this kind to take small, controlled bites of tissue where space is tight.

Why surgeons choose a punch

First, a punch cuts a defined piece of tissue with each closure. Therefore, the surgeon removes only what the jaw holds. That control helps in narrow ear and nose spaces where scissors would be awkward.

Two sizes

We offer this punch in 1 mm and 2 mm sizes. The 1 mm size takes very fine bites. The 2 mm size, meanwhile, removes more tissue per bite. We do not publish further dimensions, so contact us if you need them.

In the operating room

Fine punches also appear on many otology and sinus trays. For example, a team may keep both sizes so the surgeon can move from coarse to fine work. The instrument also pairs well with suction tubes and micro forceps.

Selecting a size

Consider, then, the smallest space you work in. If you often operate near delicate structures, start with the 1 mm version. Alternatively, order both sizes to cover the usual range. We are happy to help you decide.

Caring for your Beyer puncher

Open the jaws and flush them straight after surgery. Then scrub the joint and jaws with a soft brush, because tissue collects there. Dry the punch fully, and sterilize it in the open position.
