Breisky Vaginal Speculum

The Breisky vaginal speculum has a single blade at each end of the instrument. Each end has a different size, so one piece offers two options.

14 cm sizes

Short pairs: 70 x 22 with 76 x 25 mm, and 76 x 25 with 82 x 30 mm. So these suit smaller anatomy. Also, the 14 cm overall length keeps them compact on the tray.

17 cm sizes

Long pairs: 82 x 30 with 95 x 38 mm, and 95 x 38 with 102 x 44 mm. As a result, they reach deeper and hold back more tissue. Meanwhile, the extra length gives a longer grip.

Overlapping pairs

Notice that neighboring pairs share one blade size. For example, 76 x 25 mm appears on two different instruments. That way, you can step up or down smoothly during a case.

Single-blade retraction

A Breisky vaginal speculum holds one wall at a time. Therefore, surgeons often pair it with a second blade or retractor. Then the view opens across both walls of the vagina.

Cleaning Breisky vaginal speculum

Clean both blade ends with equal care, since each contacts tissue. Next, rinse and inspect the edges for any sharp spots or dents. Finally, dry it and store the 14 cm and 17 cm sizes in separate slots.
