Bone Graft Compactor
Loose particulate settles poorly unless someone presses it into place. A bone graft compactor lets the clinician condense the material in measured increments, so the graft fills the defect evenly. This listing covers four versions from the compactors and tampers section of our supplier catalogue.
Single Straight Tips: 4 mm and 5 mm
The straight models carry one working end, and the tip size gives each its name.
- Straight, 4 mm tip: the narrower face fits a slim socket or a small sinus window.
- Straight, 5 mm tip: a broader face spreads pressure over more graft, which suits wider sockets.
Pick the tip closest to the width of the defect. A face that is too large tends to bridge the opening.
Double Ended at 150 or 155 mm
These versions put a tamping surface at each end of one handle. As a result, the clinician can change working ends without reaching back to the tray. They come in 150 mm and 155 mm overall lengths. The catalogue gives no further tip detail for these two. So please compare the product photos to see each pair of ends.
Building the Graft in Layers
Place a small amount of material first, then press it down lightly before adding the next portion. This layered approach avoids voids at the floor of the site. Also, moderate pressure is enough; heavy force can crush the particles.
Every bone graft compactor is inspected by hand in the United States before we ship it. All four tamper versions are warranted three years against manufacturing defects. Units are supplied non-sterile, so clean and autoclave them before clinical use.
The steel grade aligns with ASTM F899 for stainless surgical tools. Explore the wider grafting and implant instrument category, and load material ahead of packing with our bone graft syringe. For order and return policies, visit the customer FAQs.
For professional clinical use by trained practitioners. Tamper reprocessing is outlined in our care and sterilization notes, and transit options appear on the shipping page.
