Balfour Retractor Blade

This Balfour retractor blade is the center blade that sits at one end of the Balfour frame. You get the blade alone, in one of two sizes.

45 x 80 mm

The smaller size suits moderate depth and a narrower incision. Also, it leaves more room at the end of the wound. So many teams treat it as the everyday choice.

75 x 85 mm

The larger size reaches deeper and covers more width. Therefore, it suits larger patients and a longer midline incision. Then it keeps more tissue out of the field.

Center blade role

Side arms spread the wound left and right. Meanwhile, the center blade pulls the end of the incision away. As a result, the field opens in three directions.

Blade only

No frame ships with this listing. Instead, fit it to a Balfour frame you already use. Plus, a spare Balfour retractor blade keeps a set whole after a loss.

Reprocessing Balfour retractor blade

Pull this center piece from its Balfour frame for washing, then rinse off blood and tissue. Next, brush the mount end with care, since residue builds up there. Finally, dry it and keep it with the frame it fits.
