Baby-Roux Retractor
The Baby-Roux retractor scales the classic Roux design down to a compact 13 cm length. It gives two small working ends for shallow wounds, short incisions and tight spaces.
Small but double-ended
Each end has its own blade profile, so one tool covers two depths. Therefore the assistant turns it over instead of trading instruments. That keeps a minor procedure tray compact and easy to set up.
Why choose the baby size
A shorter body means finer control near the skin. Also, it leaves space around a small opening for scissors and forceps. Then nothing blocks the view down to the base of the wound.
Good for children
Pediatric incisions often need a lighter, smaller retractor. Because it measures only 13 cm, it suits that scale well. Likewise, it helps in plastic surgery on the face, ears and hands.
Compared with other Roux sizes
The Mini-Roux sits a step above at about 15 cm. Meanwhile, the full Roux comes in three figures up to 17 cm. So the Baby-Roux retractor fills the smallest slot in the family.
Reprocessing Baby-Roux retractor
Rinse both ends right after the case, before blood and saline residue can set on the steel. Next, wipe and brush the blades, paying attention to each bend. Finally, store it flat in a tray slot so the small ends keep their shape.
