Asch septum forceps help surgeons straighten the nasal septum after a fracture. The two blades slide into the nose, one on each side of the septum, and then guide it back to the midline.

Straightening the septum

A broken nose often shifts the septum as well as the nasal bones. Therefore, the surgeon uses these forceps to realign the septum during closed reduction. Correcting the septum can also help the nasal bones stay in place.

A single 23 cm length

We stock this pattern at 23 cm overall. That length reaches through the nostril to the septum and still leaves a firm grip outside. So one size covers most adult reductions.

Fit within a nasal fracture set

Many surgeons use Asch and Walsham forceps together. First, the Walsham pair repositions the nasal bones. Next, the Asch septum forceps straighten the septum between them.

Caring for your Asch septum forceps

Rinse the blades straight after use, while the residue is still soft. Then brush along the inner surfaces and around the joint. Finally, dry the forceps completely and sterilize them with the jaws open.
