Description
Arruga Eye Speculum
The Arruga eye speculum is an 8 cm lid holder made in Left Eye and Right Eye versions. Because the design is side-specific, you choose the version that matches the eye you treat. That helps keep the frame out of your way during surgery.
Left or Right: matching the eye
Order the Left Eye version for left-eye cases and the Right Eye version for right-eye cases. If you operate on both sides, keep one of each. Then label them clearly, since they look alike at a glance.
Why a side-specific speculum?
A frame shaped for one side can sit better against the face. As a result, it can stay clear of your working space. Check the photo to see how the frame sits.
Arruga set planning
For a busy list:
- Stock at least one Left and one Right
- Mark each side on the tray map
- Check the side before draping the patient
The 8 cm Arruga frame
At 8 cm, the Arruga sits in our larger group of specula. It suits adult surgery where you want a steady, full view. So it often joins cataract and corneal trays.
Cleaning the Arruga frame
Rinse the frame soon after use, then brush any joint or bend. Dry it fully. Also, before you store it, check that the arms meet evenly, because a twisted arm can rub the lid.
Ordering by eye side
Left and Right Arruga versions both ship unsterile; wash and sterilize the Arruga frame, and it returns for repeat cases. Arruga steel meets ASTM F899. Left or right, the Arruga stays under warranty for three years against manufacturing defects.
