Description
Yasargil Micro Needle Holder, Bayonet
The Yasargil needle holder uses a bayonet shape for neurosurgery. Its offset shaft keeps your hand below the microscope’s line of sight.
Bayonet shaft
The bend sits between handle and shaft. As a result, the tips stay visible while your fingers rest off to one side. So you work through a narrow opening without blocking the scope.
Spring handles
The Yasargil needle holder opens on a light spring between two flat handles. So your fingertips control each bite with little effort. Also, the handles sit low, away from the scope.
Straight or curved
Straight tips suit direct passes. By contrast, curved tips help you work around a vessel or nerve. Then choose the shape that suits your approach.
Choosing a length
The 15 cm Yasargil needle holder suits superficial dural closure. However, the 20, 23 and 25 cm sizes reach deep skull-base fields. Match the length to your working distance under the scope and the depth of the opening.
Reprocessing Yasargil needle holder
Clean the long shaft carefully along its whole length, including the inside of the bend. Next, brush the tips and flush the joint. Then dry the holder and rest it in a rack that supports the bayonet bend.
