Description
Yasargil Elevator
The Yasargil elevator is a neurosurgical elevator for lifting and separating tissue. Surgeons slide it into a plane and then raise tissue gently, for example to free a structure from what surrounds it.
What an elevator does
An elevator works by gentle leverage rather than an edge. So it lifts tissue rather than cutting it. Therefore it is useful near delicate structures, where the surgeon wants separation without sharp edges.
Size
We list the elevator at 18 cm. The length gives good reach while keeping the instrument light in the hand. If you need the working end dimensions, ask and we will look them up.
Where it fits
It complements Yasargil dissectors and probes. For instance, a dissector may open a plane, then the elevator lifts tissue along it. Many surgeons keep one on both cranial and spinal trays.
Choosing an elevator
If you want a microsurgical elevator from the same family as your dissectors, this one fits. On the other hand, if you need a heavier periosteal tool, look at our raspatories instead.
Caring for your Yasargil elevator
Rinse the working end immediately after use. Next, brush it gently and check the edge for nicks. Then dry the elevator fully before sterilizing it with your micro instruments.

Ordering and support
Any workmanship defect in the elevator falls under a three-year warranty. Our team checks each elevator by hand in Atlanta before shipment. The FAQ list explains how orders work. Elevator steel meets ASTM F899, the standard we cite for surgical instruments. A heavier periosteal option is the Yasargil raspatory. More tools sit in our neurosurgery line.
Elevator sales go to professionals. Photo variation and nickel in stainless steel have their own care and sterilization tips, while carriers appear on the shipping info page.
