Description
Williger Periosteal Raspatory
The Williger raspatory is a fine stripping instrument with a 5 mm blade. It comes in 13 cm and 15 cm lengths for oral, facial and small-bone work.
Fine blade
A 5 mm blade works in small spaces with precision. Therefore it suits jaw surgery, facial plating and fine work on metacarpals. It lifts periosteum without tearing it.
Two lengths
The 13 cm version gives close control. Meanwhile, the 15 cm version adds reach. Both share the same 5 mm blade.
Who uses the Williger raspatory
Oral surgeons use it to raise flaps before bone work. Also, hand surgeons use it around the metacarpals. In addition, facial teams use it in fracture repair.
Technique
Start the blade at the incision edge. Then push it along the bone in short steps. Keep the edge on bone to protect the tissue.
Small flaps, small blade
Small bones and thin facial bone need a delicate touch. So the 5 mm Williger blade lifts tissue without bruising it. In addition, the narrow edge fits around screws and small plates.
