Hartmann Nasal Cutting Forceps

The Hartmann nasal cutting forceps removes tissue from inside the nose. Surgeons use the Hartmann nasal cutting forceps for septal and turbinate trimming as well as small resections in the nasal cavity.

Where the design helps

The nasal cavity is narrow, so every instrument must work through a small opening. This pattern lets the surgeon cut at depth while the hand stays outside the nose. It also takes tissue out in the same step.

Using it during a procedure

After the surgeon exposes the target with a speculum, the forceps goes in closed. Then the jaws open, take the tissue and close. The surgeon repeats the bite until the area looks clear.

Caring for the jaws

Rinse off tissue and blood right after the case. Next, brush the jaw edges and hinge with a soft nylon brush. Then dry and inspect it before sterilization.
