Description

Watson-Williams Nasal Cutting Forceps

The Watson-Williams nasal cutting forceps is an ethmoid forceps for sinus surgery. Surgeons use the Watson-Williams nasal cutting forceps to take away ethmoid cell walls and polypoid tissue through the nose.

A long-standing sinus pattern

This pattern belongs to the same family as the Blakesley forceps. It reaches the ethmoid region through the nostril and bites off tissue. So it often sits on the tray next to other ethmoid forceps.

One version

We offer a single pattern. Our supplier catalogue lists it at about 19 cm overall with a 120 mm shaft. If you need other details, such as jaw width, please ask before ordering.

Where it fits in a sinus case

First, the surgeon opens the ethmoid bulla or cells. Then this forceps clears walls and diseased tissue step by step. Suction keeps blood away while the work continues. Also, a nasal speculum or endoscope gives the surgeon a view of each bite.

Choosing it over other patterns

Many surgeons pick an ethmoid forceps because of training or habit. Therefore, if your team already uses Watson-Williams, this keeps the tray familiar. Otherwise, compare it with the Weil-Blakesley range before buying.

Caring for your ethmoid forceps

Flush the jaws right after the procedure. Next, brush the jaw area gently to remove tissue fragments. Then dry the forceps and sterilize it with the jaws open.

Ordering Watson-Williams forceps

Watson-Williams forceps from us include a three-year warranty on workmanship faults. Before packing, someone in our Atlanta office examines each one by hand. Our Watson-Williams questions and answers page covers the usual order topics. Meanwhile, ASTM F899 explains which steels suit surgical instruments. For polyp removal in the same field, the Luc nasal polypus forceps works well. The full ENT range is worth a look too.
