Description
Walton Retractor
The Walton retractor is a self-retaining retractor, 18 cm long. It holds a wound open so the surgeon can work without an assistant pulling.
Self-retaining hold
You set the spread once and the instrument keeps it until you release it. So no one needs to hold tension through the case, however long it runs. Also, a fixed hold keeps the view steady.
An 18 cm instrument
The Walton comes in one length of 18 cm. However, we also stock other 18 cm self-retaining patterns, such as the Darling. So compare them if you need a like-for-like replacement.
Where it fits
Self-retaining tools of this size often appear in general and orthopedic trays. Then they hold skin and muscle apart while the surgeon works in the layers below. Plus, they free an assistant for other tasks.
Ordering
If you are replacing a Walton retractor, check the length against your old one. Because patterns differ in detail, a photo helps us confirm the match. Then we can suggest an alternative if needed.
Cleaning Walton retractor
Open the instrument fully and rinse between the arms with lukewarm water. Then brush the working ends, where tissue collects. Finally, let it dry completely and keep the working ends covered in the tray.
