Description
Teale Uterine Tenaculum Forceps
The Teale tenaculum is a curved vulsellum forceps for holding the cervix during gynecologic procedures. It comes in one length of 23 cm.
A curved profile
The curve helps keep your hand below the view through the speculum. So the operator sees the cervix and the os more clearly. Plus, the curve can help when the cervix sits at an angle.
Vulsellum grip
Vulsellum patterns give a secure hold on the cervix, even under traction. Therefore, they suit steps that need steady traction. Meanwhile, the grip keeps the canal in line for the next instrument.
Uterine work
Gynecologists apply it during sounding, dilation and curettage. Then it holds the cervix while each instrument passes along the canal. Finally, the clinician releases it once the procedure ends and checks the cervix.
Compared with straight tenacula
Straight tenacula give a direct line to the cervix from the hand. By contrast, the Teale tenaculum trades that line for a clearer view. Choose by the viewing angle your team prefers for each type of case.
Cleaning Teale tenaculum
Clean inside the curve carefully with a soft brush, where fluid can collect. Next, run it through a washer, then dry it with compressed air. Store it in a slot shaped for curved instruments so the tips stay protected.
