Description
Tap + Drill Sleeve
This tap and drill sleeve guides both the drill bit and the tap through the same hole. One sleeve covers two steps of screw insertion.
Two steps, one sleeve
First, the drill end centers the pilot drill. Then the tap end guides the tap through the same path. As a result, the thread follows the drilled hole exactly.
Three sizes
Choose 2.7 / 1.0, 2.7 / 2.0 or 3.5 / 2.5 mm. In addition, the first figure matches the tap, and the second matches the drill. Check your system’s sizes.
Who uses a tap and drill sleeve
Hand, foot and small fragment surgeons use it often. Also, maxillofacial teams use similar sleeves. Additionally, it keeps small trays simple.
Protecting tissue
The sleeve shields soft tissue from the drill and tap. Consequently, tendons and vessels stay safe. Keep it pressed against bone.
Saving tray space
Combined sleeves reduce the number of separate guides. Therefore small sets stay compact. Also, that helps in busy clinics.
Matching to your screws
The 2.7 mm versions pair with 2.7 mm screws, with either a 1.0 or 2.0 mm drill bore. Meanwhile, the 3.5 / 2.5 mm version matches common 3.5 mm cortex screws. Therefore check your system chart before choosing.

How we check each sleeve
Every sleeve undergoes a hand examination by our Atlanta team prior to packing. Should each sleeve develop a workmanship defect, you have three years against manufacturing defects. Related pieces are in our orthopedic catalog. For more on steels for surgery, go to ASTM F899. Larger clinics stock two of these to cover reprocessing time. For quick help, browse the FAQ section. We can suggest an option for repeat orders. Also consider our tap sleeve.
Sold to medical professionals. Delivery options are on the delivery policy. Our sterilization page discusses how photos may vary along with the alloy’s nickel.
