Description
Suction Tubes With Filter
Drilling an osteotomy produces a slurry of blood, saline and fine bone chips. A suction tube with filter holds back those chips while the fluid continues to the vacuum line. The surgeon can then recover the collected particles and use them as autogenous graft material in the same appointment.
Where the Bone Ends Up
In an ordinary aspirator, harvested particulate disappears into the canister. With this design, however, the filter sits in the instrument itself, close to the working field. So the assistant can open it, lift out the trapped material and pass it straight to the graft dish. That short path keeps the chips handy instead of lost in the waste trap.
Choosing 17.5 cm or 18 cm
Both options share the same filtering idea and differ only in length.
- 17.5 cm: a compact reach that suits most anterior and premolar sites, where the tip stays close to the assistant’s hand.
- 18 cm: slightly longer, which helps when the flap is reflected deeper or the site sits further back in the arch.
Many offices keep one of each, because the extra half centimetre is useful on molar cases.
Handling the Filter Between Cases
Organic debris builds up inside any filter, so disassemble the tube after every procedure and brush each passage before it dries. Next, inspect the filter for retained tissue before it goes into the sterilizer pouch.
Our staff inspects every suction tube with filter in the United States before shipment. In addition, both filtered tube lengths carry three years against manufacturing defects under our written policy. It arrives non-sterile, so complete a full clean and sterilization cycle first.
Metal components are sourced to the ASTM F899 standard for surgical instrument alloys. See related tools in our implant surgery instrument range, and carry the recovered chips to the site with the 4.5 mm bone graft syringe. Common questions about suction accessories are covered in the Intrace USA FAQs.
Intended for trained dental and surgical staff. Filter cleaning belongs in the routine on our sterilization instructions page, and order tracking details live on the delivery information page.
