The Subramanian aortic clamp controls the aorta in neonates and young children. At 16 cm, it keeps a low profile in a small chest.

Left or right version

You can order the clamp as a left or a right version. So the handle can sit on the side that leaves the field clearest. Many teams keep both to suit different approaches.

Stainless steel or titanium

Stainless steel suits most sets and daily use. Alternatively, titanium offers a lighter option for surgeons who prefer less weight in the hand. Both materials hold the same 16 cm pattern.

Pediatric aortic work

Cleaning Subramanian aortic clamp

Keep titanium and stainless versions in separate trays so they do not scratch each other. Also, rinse and open the jaws fully before any washer cycle. Then dry them well and check both halves still close evenly.
