Standard Sinuscopy Scissors

These standard sinuscopy scissors cut tissue during endoscopic sinus surgery. ENT surgeons use them to trim mucosa and soft tissue inside the nose and sinuses.

Cutting in the sinuses

The scissors work alongside the endoscope in a narrow space. So the slim design lets the surgeon cut exactly where needed. The cut tissue then comes out with grasping forceps.

Smooth or serrated edge

We offer two blade edges: smooth and serrated. A smooth edge gives a clean cut. Meanwhile, a serrated edge grips tissue so it slips less during the cut.

A 12 cm length

Both versions measure 12 cm. That length suits work through the nostril with an endoscope in place. In addition, it keeps the hand close for fine control. Therefore most surgeons can use it without changing their usual grip. It also stores easily in a standard sinus tray.

Choosing an edge

First, think about the tissue you cut most often. Next, consider whether slipping has caused problems before. If so, the serrated version may help; otherwise, the smooth edge suits most general cuts.

Caring for your standard sinuscopy scissors

Rinse the blades soon after surgery. Then brush the joint and the blade edges carefully with a soft brush. Dry the scissors and sterilize them with the tips protected.
