Description
Spizziri Knife Cannula
The Spizziri knife cannula puts a short blade at the far end of a hollow shaft. You can open tissue and keep fluid flowing through the same tool. It is a compact choice for anterior segment steps where a second instrument would crowd the wound.
How the Spizziri tip behaves
The tip carries a short cutting edge, while the bore behind it delivers fluid. As a result, the chamber stays formed while you cut. Surgeons often use cutting cannulas of this type for capsule openings. However, use the pattern only in the steps you know it suits.
About the 27.0g listing
The attribute on this item reads 27.0g. It may describe the gauge of the shaft, or it may describe weight. We list it as given, so ask us if the exact value matters for your setup. Other facts:
- Listed value: 27.0g
- Short cutting tip on an open bore
- Syringe or line connection at the hub
- Reusable stainless construction
Working with a fine blade
Prime the line first, then enter with the tip pointed away from the endothelium. Next, move in short strokes and let the edge do the work. Also, keep your hand braced on the patient’s brow or a rest.
Protecting the edge between cases
Store it in a slotted tray so the tip touches nothing. After use, flush the bore at once, since saline crystals block fine tubes. Then clean, dry and inspect it under magnification. It ships non-sterile and can return to service after sterilization.
