Description
Simcoe Capsule Polisher Sandblasted
The Simcoe sandblasted capsule polisher has a textured tip that gently scrubs the posterior capsule. A fine bore carries fluid at the same time. Therefore you can polish and rinse without changing tools.
Why a sandblasted surface
A smooth tip can glide over plaque without lifting it. By contrast, a matte, sandblasted face adds light friction. This helps loosen leftover lens cells and fine cortex. Yet the texture stays mild enough for careful use on a thin capsule. That balance is why many cataract surgeons reach for a sandblasted tip when the bag looks cloudy.
Curved edge for the capsular bag
The only edge type offered is curved. The bend follows the inside of the bag and helps you reach the far periphery. If you need a sharper bend for the subincisional zone, compare it with an angled polisher. At a glance:
- Edge type: curved
- Sandblasted polishing face
- Irrigating bore
- Syringe connection at the hub
Using the polisher well
Fill the bag before you start. Then move the tip in small circles or short strokes. Light contact is enough, because the texture does most of the work. Finally, rinse the bag well to wash out what you lifted.
Cleaning a textured tip
Textured surfaces can hold debris, so clean them with care. First flush the bore, then work over the matte face with soft bristles. After that, give it a final rinse and air dry. The Simcoe sandblasted capsule polisher ships non-sterile but is reusable once cleaned and sterilized.
