The Silver osteotome is a small nasal osteotome for rhinoplasty. Light mallet strokes carry its narrow edge along a planned line in the nasal bones.

What an osteotome does

Unlike a chisel, an osteotome has a blade bevelled on both sides. So it tends to travel straight through bone rather than lift out a slice. That quality makes osteotomes a staple of nasal bone cuts.

Straight, right or left

You can choose a straight, right or left configuration. The straight version suits midline work. Meanwhile, the right and left versions help the surgeon reach each side of the nose at a better angle.

Size notes

The catalogue lists this osteotome at about 18 cm with a 5 mm blade. That narrow blade suits fine cuts through thin nasal bone. For other data, please contact us before ordering.

Choosing configurations

If your surgeon cuts both sides, a right and left pair makes sense. However, some surgeons prefer a straight osteotome for every step. Therefore ask your team how they approach the lateral cuts before you order.

Caring for your Silver osteotome

Rinse the blade immediately to stop bone and blood from drying on it. Next, clean it by hand without striking the edge. Then dry it and sterilize it with a protective tip cover.
