Description
Seyffert Vaginal Speculum
The Seyffert vaginal speculum is a self-retaining pattern for examination and minor procedures. Once in position, it holds itself open, so your hands stay free.
Self-retaining action
Because it stays open on its own, you need no assistant to hold it. So you can focus on the swab, biopsy or suture in front of you. Also, the view stays steady throughout the procedure.
Slim 100 x 17 mm blade
The 100 mm blade measures only 17 mm wide. That makes it a good choice where space runs tight. Meanwhile, it still reaches well into the vagina for a full view of the cervix.
Broad 110 x 33 mm blade
The larger size nearly doubles the blade width. As a result, it holds back more tissue for a wider working view. Plus, its extra 10 mm of length adds reach for deeper anatomy.
Choosing between them
Pick the slim Seyffert vaginal speculum for a narrow opening. However, choose the broad version when you need more room to work. Therefore, keeping both sizes on the shelf covers most cases in a gynecology clinic.
Cleaning Seyffert vaginal speculum
Rinse the instrument in cool water first to lift protein from the steel. Next, scrub each blade face and every moving part with a soft brush. Finally, dry it completely and store it in a clean, dry drawer.
