The Semb periosteal elevator lifts periosteum away from bone in thoracic and rib surgery. Five figures give a choice of blade width and length.

Blade widths

Figures 1 and 2 have a 12 mm blade. Figures 3 and 4 step up to 13 mm. Finally, Figure 5 offers the widest blade at 15 mm.

Lengths

Across the range, lengths run from 17.5 cm to 23 cm. So you can choose more reach for deeper work. However, a shorter one gives closer hand control.

Choosing a figure

Start with the blade width your surgeons prefer. Then check the length that suits your usual approach. Because every figure shares the Semb name, one tray can hold several without confusion.

Stocking the set
