Description
Segond Hysterectomy Forceps
The Segond hysterectomy forceps is a Segond pattern clamp of about 23 cm. It grips tissue so the surgeon can divide and tie pedicles during hysterectomy.
Clamping pedicles
Each pedicle needs a firm clamp before the surgeon cuts it. Then a suture ligature goes on below the jaws. As a result, the clamp plays a central part in every step of the operation.
Mid-length reach
About 23 cm long, this clamp sits between shorter Heaney clamps and the 25 cm Faure. So it suits a broad range of patients. Also, the length balances reach against control in the hand.
Segond and Segond-Landau
We also carry the Segond-Landau pattern at a similar length. Therefore, surgeons with a preference can pick the one they know. Meanwhile, either works well on a standard hysterectomy tray.
Ordering notes
Order Segond hysterectomy forceps in pairs, since pedicles usually need a clamp on each side. Plus, spares keep the tray complete during reprocessing. However, ask us if you need jaw details before ordering.
Cleaning Segond hysterectomy forceps
Rinse blood from the jaws before it dries. Next, clean the joint area with a brush and a mild detergent, then rinse. Finally, check the jaws meet evenly, then dry and store the clamp.
