Description
Patella Reposition Forceps
Patella reposition forceps bring kneecap fracture fragments back together. At 18 cm, they fit the knee comfortably.
Built for the kneecap
The patella is a flat, round bone. Therefore the jaws must grip its edges without slipping. This forceps is shaped for that task.
How it works
The surgeon places the jaws on opposite edges of the patella. Then closing the forceps brings the fragments together. As a result, wires or screws can go in while the reduction holds.
Who uses patella reposition forceps
Knee and trauma surgeons use them in patella fracture repair. Also, they help in some tibial tubercle procedures. Besides, they suit both open and limited approaches.
Checking the joint surface
Before fixation, feel or view the joint surface. Then adjust the forceps until the surface is smooth. A step in the cartilage causes problems later.
Holding while fixing
Keep the forceps closed until tension band wires or screws secure the bone. Consequently, the reduction stays exact. Remove the forceps last.
Open or limited approaches
In open repair, the forceps works under direct vision. Meanwhile, in limited approaches it can work through small incisions. Either way, it helps hold the reduction steady.

Order info
Our Atlanta team checks the forceps closely before it ships. The protection for every forceps extends to three years against manufacturing defects from delivery. The FDA database lists ASTM F899 under steel in surgical instruments. For shipping questions, open the FAQ page. Looking for help choosing a forceps? Get in touch and we will check.
