Description
Mod-Martin Plaster Of Paris Knife
This Martin plaster knife follows the modified Martin pattern and measures 20 cm. It cuts, trims and windows plaster of Paris casts by hand.
A modified pattern
The modified Martin version adapts an older knife design. Moreover, its 20 cm length gives a firm grip and good reach. Therefore it suits larger casts as well as small ones.
Who uses the Martin plaster knife
Plaster rooms use it for trimming and windowing. Also, orthopedic wards use it for quick adjustments. Clinics that apply many casts rely on it.
Martin plaster knife for windows
A window lets staff check a wound or pressure point. First, mark the area, then cut along the line with short strokes. Finally, lift the piece out gently.
Damp or set plaster
Damp plaster cuts easily and cleanly. In contrast, set plaster needs more force and care. Plan cuts before the cast hardens where you can.
Safety first
Keep fingers behind the blade at all times. Then cut away from the patient. Use shears for the padding underneath.
Part of a full set
Knives, saws, shears and spreaders each have a role. Consequently, most cast rooms keep all four types. Besides, we list each of them.
